Rotas de Rhode Island

O estado americano de Rhode Island tem 70 rodovias estaduais , coordenadas e assinadas pelo Departamento de Transporte de Rhode Island (RIDOT). A maioria delas são rodovias parcial ou totalmente estaduais , estradas de propriedade e mantidas pela RIDOT. Cada cidade e vila em Rhode Island, exceto New Shoreham ( Block Island ), tem pelo menos uma rota numerada.

As rodovias estaduais em Rhode Island são sinalizadas com um escudo quadrado padrão (para rotas de 2 dígitos) ou um escudo retangular (para rotas de 3 dígitos), com dígitos pretos em um fundo branco. As iniciais do estado de RI são colocadas acima do número, como pode ser visto na figura ao lado. Os escudos são semelhantes aos do vizinho Massachusetts, embora os sinais de trânsito desse estado contenham apenas o número. Em alguns sinais de estrada mais antigos, os escudos de rota estaduais ocasionalmente omitem o "RI" acima do número, mas a maioria dos sinais mais recentes (particularmente ao longo da I-95) apresenta as iniciais do estado.
