I want to fix the page, but I need to understand how to do it. Your recent tag on this page has me confuse. I do see where you get "It relies largely or entirely upon a single source." and "Its introduction provides insufficient context for those unfamiliar with the subject", but I'm not sure where you get "The notability of this article's subject is in question." All of these place are significant in the [[Latter Day Saint Movement] and most of these places are on the National Register of Historic Places. Doesn’t that establish enough notability to be in a list? This is an honest question and not a complaint.--ARTEST4ECHO (talk/contribs) 16:11, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper[edit]

Greetings, I was wondering if I might interest you in working on the page of Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper. She's a Ukrainian-American who was an astronaut with NASA and flew on two Space Shuttle missions. I found a bunch of links that can be used as citations and dropped them on the Talk Page. I added a few things to the article, but there is plenty of potential for expansion. The reason I am asking for help, is because I actually know Captain Heide and I don't feel entirely comfortable working on her page (she and I met at a Plast Camp in 1979). Thank you. Category:Synagogues destroyed by Nazi Germany[edit]

Hi Kevlar67! I'm just writing to you as the one who (I think) created the above category. Recently someone has added to it the Great Synagogue of London, which was destroyed in the Blitz on London (as is appropriately categorised as such). I am not sure that this fits with the concept of the category, which deals rather with synagogues that Nazis or their allies deliberately went and demolished or destroyed - or is my reading wrong? Thanks - --Smerus (talk) 12:01, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did, am i not allowed to say that the article wasn´t good or near to that? It was just a copy work from the men´s article. Will continue to add stuff to it. Kante4 (talk) 20:13, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WPFC subprojects[edit]

Hello Kevlar67, you are one of the 3 current active members of the Subdivisions bureau. Members are considered inactive if their last contribution to Wikipedia has been over 6 months ago. There is a current discussion going on concerning the merging of some of the WPFC's subprojects due to the overlap and relative inactivity of those currently extant. Please respond to me soon with your support of or opposition to the creation of a single Subdivisions task force. The current three subprojects that will be merged are the Subdivisions bureau, the AH subdivisions work group (parts of which are already covered by the Austria-Hungary task force), and the Former subdivisions work group. Reverted category addition to Garneau Theatre[edit]

Hey, heads up I reverted your edit adding the category "Movie Palaces" to the Garneau Theatre article. The Garneau was never advertised as a movie palace, and doesn't fit the description of the category (Period revival, atmospheric theatre, or art deco). The building is technically late moderne, and certainly has some elements of art deco, but I'd argue it's more "streamline moderne", which is related to but distinct from art deco. Also, its 1940 construction date puts it right at the end of the movie palace's date range. Let me know if you disagree!

Thanks for the interest in Edmonton theatres.

--Rawlangs (talk) 22:48, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I suppose it should be posted more clearly. The category page contains a link to the "main article" for the category, but you have to dig to find out exactly what they define as a "movie palace". Maybe Edmonton's Princess Theatre is a better example of a movie palace?

Hi there,

Thanks for adding some categories to the article on this opera. However, I'm inclined to undo your linking the article on one of the HMS Enterprises. Although the 1848 Enterprise was an Arctic survey vessel like the one in the opera, the scene involving the latter is set in 1845 and the ship sinks which doesn't seem to have happened to the real one in that setting.--Peter cohen (talk) 20:17, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Iron Confederacy at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Hi Kevlar67, I am reviewing your article for DYK and am spotting a couple minor problems I am sure you can fix pretty easily. I'll have my review posted in about 15 min from now. Montanabw(talk) 23:05, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kevlar, just a quick FYI to check your article and the DYK nom page. I put tags in the two spots where I think your hook facts need citation, if those are taken care of, I'll pass it (one is the wise geek site that has some other inaccuracies in it, rendering it dubious as a source). However, another reviewer didn't care for my style nor my proposal of a new hook, so I'm not sure I am the final arbiter of what happens. However, your comments on either my alt hook or the other person's proposed alt hook would be helpful (we usually don't pass an alt hook unless the original nominator is OK with it - or if there is some other strong consensus). I think the article is very interesting and I am glad you wrote it! Montanabw(talk) 21:05, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tweaked a couple things in the article (sourced the 1885 end to the Hogue article, made some other assorted copyedits, mostly minor) and I'm now happy with it for DYK, however, now that you found all the new and cool stuff, looks like the hook will need another tweak, I left some comments and I think the best thing for you to do is to propose an ALT3 hook, which, not being mine, I think I can sign off and get this done. You did some great work! Montanabw(talk) 22:13, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy with the sourcing on Iron Confederacy now; however, we don't have a hook finalized, so can you pop over there and perhaps look over the comments, propose a new and improved hook and when we can pass the DYK and get this on the main page? If you have an image from the article that is fully commons-compliant, I think it would be fun to add, also. Montanabw(talk) 19:32, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Blackfoot Confederacy[edit]

Hey Kevlar67, I've seen your work on the Blackfoot Confederacy article and I agree with you on a comment that you made on the article's talk page:
This article should be split. Half of it discusses the culture (language, religion, economy) of the Blackfoot-speaking peoples. Half of it is the history of a political alliance between those peoples and the Sarcee and Gros Ventre called the Blackfoot Confederacy. Its like the difference between an article on Germans, the people, and an article on the German Empire, a state that those people where a part of. --Kevlar (talk • contribs) 17:23, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I think that how the article now stands tends to cause confusion for the general reader and not clarity. I think that the term, "Niitsitapi" should be included in the lede, but its usage periodically throughout the article in place of Blackfeet or Blackfoot, is also confusing. Blackfoot/Blackfeet is the term used in the sources and is how they were referred to by those writing the various historical accounts, and is the term that the current day tribes/nations refer to themselves on their websites. It's similar to using the term "Navajo" instead of "Diné".
I wasn't planning on putting a lot of work into this article beyond what I've contributed, but this is an issue that seems to stand out whenever I come back to it. I would like to know your thoughts on this. Thanks. Evenrød (talk) 21:31, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

consequences of "Named Territorie" on {{Canadian colonies}}[edit]

Hi; been reviewing the edit history to find who added that wording; it's been used to justify the addition of some very questionable articles, one of which is Straumsfojdr (with Old Norse script, that's probably a redlink) and I've posted a WP:NOR notice about and started an ANI on its OWNer...that template seriously needs renaming and vetting; "territories" is a huge list; in BC alone there'd be ten of more other names that "should" be on there, e.g. names conferred by Capt Vancouver that were never used (New Hanover, New Georgia, New Bremen) and Fusang and Anian and Bergi and so on; also Swift's Brobdingnag he places in the approximate area of Haida Gwaii and Prince of Wales Island......I'm of Norse descent myself, but am well aware that Markland and Helluland were not functioning settlements and their locations are uncertain, despite Farley Mowat's claims that they were Labrador and Baffin Island...so much spurious content everywhere in Wikipedia, only so many conscientious editors; have a look at the STraumsfjordr article-history and compare what I took out to what was there before; much of what is still there isn't so much as SYNTH formulating various false/personal conclusions....anyways just a heads-up.Skookum1 (talk) 04:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your November 2012 edits to the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland" article[edit]

Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you did a great deal of work on the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland article in November 2012 (thanks!). However, the citations you added at the time are unclear because they consist of single names followed by page numbers, with no further information (e.g., "Jenkins, 8."). Would you please be so kind as to add full citations (and remove the "format footnotes" and "citation style" templates when you do)?—DocWatson42 (talk) 10:58, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I managed to figure out two of the books you cite (including Jenkins), but Biagini (British Democracy and Irish Nationalism 1876–1906?), Hoppen, Morton, Kendle, and Boyce are still mysteries, which I don't currently have the time to unravel.—DocWatson42 (talk) 13:20, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

re Tsay keh dene[edit]

or however it's spelled. I just looked over it, and I'm t he one who added the IR names and locations......Fort Grahame doesn't have an article, it's also Bear Lake Outpost, neither are in BC Names...I went looking and found HBC fonds in the Manitoba Archives here, here with this useful summary - "Bear Lake Outpost was established circa 1870 on the Finlay River, approximately 65 miles north from the junction of the Parsnip and Peace Rivers, as an outpost of Connolly's Post (Little Bear Lake). Bear Lake Outpost was supplied by McLeod's Lake. During the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898, Bear Lake Outpost became the wintering quarters for Inspector Moody and his party of North West Mounted Police. In 1900, after Connolly's Post was closed, Bear Lake Outpost was renamed Fort Grahame. In June 1949, Fort Grahame was closed." here (list of personnel) and here...um that last one may just be a repeat of the first one, I get lost in the links sometimes. Connolly's Post at Bear Lake (not the same as t his Bear Lake) is I gather not to be confused with Fort Connolly farther west....anyways I'm deluged with projects, including my own website's rebuild and general survival, but since "you were there" was wondering if you were inclined to write an article on this fort/post....I'm not sure if the redlink on the TkD First Nation page should go to it or not; better there than to Fort Grahame Waterdrome (hm haven't got taht right, though the Fort Grahame Airport is a waterdrome. Aboriginal history of the site is yet to be found I was just glad to find these and kinda wanted to drop them somewhere before my computer crashes (again) with someone who might put them to use. Cree "nations"[edit]

The term "nation" exists in no other category of this kind. Re this I've put it back, other situations like this "peoples" is the more neutral term. This category was being used as a catchall for everything from national organizations to individual band governments, on the premise that the generic term for band governments, because their name was "FOO First Nation" or "FOO Nation", was "nations". As you are aware the lower-case term has a much wider and less specific range of meanings, including political overtones not suitable to encyclopedic language and NPOV.Skookum1 (talk) 02:37, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Vladimir Rybak[edit]

Hello, Kevlar67. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Vladimir Rybak".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Vladimir Rybak}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Proposed deletion of Annexationism[edit]

The article Annexationism has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article is currently a dictionary definition which makes WP:OR conclusion based on the Oxford English Dictionary's term for a similar but different word. Article already transwikied to Wiktionary on 5 March 2015. See [2].

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Canada-Europe relations[edit]

Hello Kevlar76. I intend to nominate this article you created in 2010 for discussion. There are multiple reasons for this. This does not mean the article will be deleted (it can be redirected) and it does not mean that the information it contains needs to go either. It can certainly be merged into existing articles. Or even the title can change to something more appropriate. I'm notifying you here before I go ahead with any proposals as I feel this is the fairest way of doing things. I have listed some of the issues I have in the article talk, see Talk:Canada–Europe relations. I look forward to your input. --Coldtrack (talk) 12:03, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Non-existent categories[edit]

Information icon Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Flyover country, please make sure that the category page actually exists. In some cases, it may be appropriate to create a new category in accordance with Wikipedia's categorization guidelines, but it is usually better to use the most specific available existing category. It is never appropriate to leave a page categorised in a non-existent category, i.e. one whose link displays in red.
