Howard Blum ( / b l ʌ m / ) (nascido em 1948) é um escritor e jornalista americano. Ex-repórter do The Village Voice e do The New York Times , Blum é editor colaborador da Vanity Fair e autor de vários livros de não ficção, incluindo o bestseller do New York Times e vencedor do Edgar Award , American Lightning .

Carreira

Em 1986, Blum começou a trabalhar como repórter do New York Times , onde recebeu duas indicações ao Prêmio Pulitzer . Desde 1994, Blum é editor colaborador da Vanity Fair . Vários de seus livros foram bestsellers de não ficção, incluindo Gangland , Wanted , The Gold of Exodus e A Brigada: Uma História Épica de Vingança, Salvação e Segunda Guerra Mundial . Vida pessoal

Blum é filho de Harold K. Blum (1917–1984), um executivo da Kane Miller Corporation em Tarrytown, Nova York , e Gertrude Blum, uma professora na cidade de Nova York. Para o ensino médio, Blum frequentou a Horace Mann School e obteve seu diploma de graduação na Universidade de Stanford , onde também recebeu um mestrado em governo em 1970. Em janeiro de 1991, ele se casou com Jenny Cox, editora de livros. Eles são divorciados. Ele atualmente reside em Sag Harbor, Nova York e Connecticut. Howard é irmão da celebridade planejadora de casamentos Marcy Blum .
