Anthony Lewis De Rose - Anthony Lewis De Rose
Anthony Lewis De Rose (17 de agosto de 1803 - 16 de abril de 1836), também soletrado Anthony Lewis DeRose , foi um pintor itinerante baseado na cidade de Nova York .
De Rose nasceu na cidade de Nova York e começou sua carreira de pintor em 1821 após um ano e meio de estudos, parcialmente como aluno de John Rubens Smith . Ele exibiu uma série de retratos na Academia Nacional de Design de 1829-1833, mas contraiu tuberculose em 1834, o que talvez tenha contribuído para sua morte precoce. Hoje ele talvez seja mais conhecido por seu retrato em aquarela de Davy Crockett (1834), na coleção da Sociedade Histórica de Nova York , mas suas obras também foram exibidas nas últimas décadas na National Academy of Design.
