A temporada 2001-02 da WHL foi a 36ª para a Western Hockey League . Dezenove times completaram uma temporada de 72 jogos. O Kootenay Ice venceu a President's Cup antes de passar a ganhar a Memorial Cup .

Notas da liga

  • O Vancouver Giants juntou-se ao WHL como sua 19ª franquia.
  • O Swift Current Broncos mudou da divisão Leste para a divisão Central.
  • O Kootenay Ice mudou-se da divisão Central para a divisão BC.
  • Com a adição dos Giants, o WHL abandonou o formato de três divisões e mudou para duas conferências de duas divisões cada. Dez times no Leste e nove no Oeste.
  • Os quatro primeiros colocados de cada divisão se classificaram para os playoffs, embora o time do 5º colocado na divisão BC pudesse se classificar no lugar do time do 4º colocado na divisão dos EUA se tivesse um registro melhor.
