Medical Service[edit]

Because the name of the military medical service changed in the transition of the 1990s we have two separate articles - South African Medical Service was a branch of the SADF while South African Military Health Service is the name in the SANDF. The other service branches - Army, Air Force and Navy did not go through a name change so they don't have multiple articles. Even though the medical organization's structure is basically the same (and the units within it are the same) the name change has resulted in separate articles.
