Robert Ian " Bob " Moore FRHistS (nascido em 1941), mais conhecido como R. I. Moore , é um historiador britânico professor emérito de história na Universidade de Newcastle . Ele é especialista em história medieval e escreveu várias obras influentes sobre o assunto da heresia . Moore foi um pioneiro no Reino Unido no ensino de história mundial para alunos de graduação , publicou vários artigos sobre história mundial comparada e é editor da série Blackwell History of the World.

Biografia

Moore nasceu em Enniskillen , Irlanda do Norte, em 8 de maio de 1941. Estudou no Merton College, Oxford , onde se graduou como bacharel em artes em 1962 e mestre em artes em 1966. De 1964 a 1994, ele ensinou história medieval na University of Sheffield , mudando-se então para a Newcastle University , onde permaneceu até 2003. Foi professor visitante na University of Chicago em 1989 e na University of California em Berkeley em 2004.
